For Zelda, there had never been a choice. All she had ever done was for Hyrule, and no matter how infinite the possibilities presented at the end of the tragedy of the Tower of Animus, Hyrule was the only place she could go. ... But she knew not everyone was so tightly bound to the responsibilities of a world won twice over as she was, and it hardly seemed fair to her that some of them worked so hard to restore worlds that would damn them in short order upon their return.

So she offered the very thing she denied herself: a choice in their destiny. Hyrule might not be the most welcoming land in the immediate aftermath of the Evil King's rule, and the life she offers might not be the most comfortable one, but if they wanted it, it was theirs.

Those who took it awaken to a boundless blue sky and a gentle breeze, the lush field grass beneath them proof that their efforts were truly not in vain. The Princess comes into view, smiling brightly and holding out a hand to help them up.

"You made it," she says. "Welcome to Hyrule."
